By creating an account or using OpenHomeStorage, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

OpenHomeStorage is a document storage service that allows you to:

• Upload and store images of important documents (IDs, insurance cards, licenses, etc.)
• Extract and search document information using AI
• Share documents with family members
• Access your documents from any device

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Upload documents you do not have the right to store or share
• Use the Service for any illegal or fraudulent purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation
• Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
• Use the Service to infringe on others' intellectual property rights

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the documents and content you upload to OpenHomeStorage. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store and process your documents to provide the Service
• Use AI to extract text and metadata for search functionality
• Display your documents to you and family members you authorize

We will not share your documents with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law.

6. Subscription and Payment

Some features require a paid subscription. By subscribing:

• You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
• Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable
• You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice

7. Family Sharing

The family sharing feature allows you to share documents with invited family members. You are responsible for:

• Only inviting family members you trust
• Understanding that shared documents will be accessible to all family members
• Managing who has access to your family group

8. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

• Temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance
• Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Limit storage or uploads based on your subscription plan

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
• We are not responsible for the accuracy of AI-extracted information

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OpenHomeStorage from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service will cease
• Your data will be deleted within 30 days
• You will not be entitled to any refund of prepaid fees

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the United States.
